10 reasons to Visit Georgia During your trip To Dubai
It’s the low cost, great food, and non stop flights under $400 for me!
Most avid travelers visit another country while on this side of the world since the United Arab Emirates is fairly central to a number of locations. We've found that Egypt, Jordan, and The Maldives are popular destinations for a stop over before headed back to the US or anywhere else in the west. Here is why we think Georgia should be on your list as a place to jump to while visiting the UAE.
Short Flight - It's a 3 hour non stop flight on Fly Dubai with flight prices being as low as 100 bucks if you book during an off season with no carry on (I recommend a suitcase as you'll want to bring back some wine)
Your Money Goes a Long Way - The currency exchange is currently 2.93 GEL for every USD. In addition, the cost of things are very reasonable so this trip won't break the bank
Foodie Heaven - I'm willing to say it's the best food scene within a 4 hour plane trip radius of the UAE. Of course this is not counting Arabic or Indian food.
Adrenaline Junkies Welcome - If you're into adventure sports you can do white water rafting, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and off roading all in one location. All of which are much cheaper than France, Switzerland, etc.
History and Culture - Because Georgia was part of the old silk road and the soviet union, there is a lot here for the history buffs.
Wine by the Cask - If you are a wine snob or just someone who enjoys a glass every now and then, this is the place to visit. A three day trip consisting of wine only makes it worth it alone.
The Gateway Drug of Caucus Countries - If you've always wanted to visit a caucus country, this is the country to start with as it has the best tourist infrastructure rivaled by Armenia and upcoming Azerbaijan.
Ease of Mobility - If you are a US citizen you’ll get a visa on arrival so if you're reading this blog with just enough time to book a flight but not enough to send your passport out for a visa then you're in luck. Plus it’s free!
Walk it Out - Tblisi which is the capital where the airport is located is a very walkable city so if you are looking to do some exploring on foot which the UAE isn't that great at yet, this is a great place to visit without the prices of western Europe. i.e. a bottle of water is under $1
Hospitality is in The Culture - The people are very welcoming and English is spoken a lot in the big cities which makes it easy to traverse on your own.
